Dutch company Ortega Submersibles has produced the newest three-seater submersible boat Ortega MK 1C that can function both above and under water. Now Ortega MK 1C is available for purchase to the public, though no official price has been announced yet.
Inspired by the “Sleeping Beauty” motorized submersible boat used by British special forces during World War II, the Mk. 1C was designed for the Dutch special forces, and is being made available for the ordinary individual to own.
Constructed using highly advanced naval technology, the submersible vessel is powered by two high-power electric motors and equipped with an on-board breathing apparatus, HUD navigation system, and a trimming tank for buoyancy control.
Additionally, each unit can carry Magnetometeres, SONAR, FLIR, extra air supply or extra cargo hold of up to 66 gallons. This multipurpose water vehicle has a dive depth of 310 feet, a range of 92 miles, and an over-water speed of 10.4 mph and underwater speed of 12.7 mph.
